The 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit (Section 25D of the tax code, expanded in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022) gives you a 30% tax credit on both the product cost and the installation labor for qualifying solar skylights and solar sun tunnels. The credit runs through 2032 at the full 30% rate.
What qualifies: VELUX solar-powered venting skylights (Model VSS, VCS), VELUX solar-powered SUN TUNNEL units, and any associated installation labor. Fixed (non-venting) skylights do NOT qualify, even if they're VELUX. Daylight Design provides Form 5695 documentation with every solar installation.
